3. Slip on the sock mitt
Turn one of your chosen socks into a cleaning mitt by slipping it over your hand, similar to putting on a glove. This allows you to use your fingers to grasp each blind slat securely and clean both sides at once.
The flexibility of your hand inside the sock helps you maneuver around the slats, reaching edges and corners where dust tends to accumulate. If your hands sweat during cleaning, consider using a second sock to switch out and maintain effectiveness.
4. Clean each blind slat
Start at the top of the window blinds and work your way down. Gently grip each slat between your thumb and fingers covered by the sock mitt. Slide the mitt along the length of the slat to lift dust and dirt off both surfaces simultaneously.
For stubborn spots, apply a little more pressure or a slightly damper sock mitt but avoid soaking the slats. Repeat this process systematically, ensuring no slat is missed. This method significantly reduces cleaning time compared to wiping each side separately.
