3. Lemon and Baking Soda Paste
Lemon juice contains natural bleaching agents like citric acid, which can lighten surface stains. When combined with baking soda’s mild abrasiveness, it can enhance stain removal.
How to use: Mix a few drops of fresh lemon juice with half a teaspoon of baking soda to form a paste. Apply gently to your teeth once or twice a week, leaving it on for no more than one minute before rinsing thoroughly.
Precautions: Due to the acidity of lemon juice, excessive use can erode tooth enamel. Avoid using this paste daily and do not use on sensitive or worn teeth.
4. Activated Charcoal Powder
Activated charcoal binds to surface stains and toxins on teeth, helping to lift discoloration and brighten the smile. Its porous texture acts like a magnet for pigments causing yellowing.
How to use: Dip a wet toothbrush into activated charcoal powder and brush your teeth gently for about 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly afterward to remove all residue.
Precautions: Avoid use on dental restorations as charcoal can be abrasive. Limit use to 1-2 times per week to prevent enamel wear.
